New Pavement, Sidewalk and Curb, Avid Hotel, Charlotte NC

A hotel lot has two jobs at once. It has to look immaculate at the door, because it is the first surface a guest touches, and it has to carry service and delivery traffic round the back without falling apart.

That is why this one was built in two specifications. 37,850 square feet went down light duty at 1.5 inches on a 6 inch stone base, and the areas taking heavier loads got 3,850 square feet at 2.5 inches on 8 inches of stone. Curb reveal was set differently for each so both finished flush.

The concrete package is the larger half of this job: 8,800 square feet of sidewalk, 1,950 linear feet of 18 inch curb and gutter, a reinforced dumpster pad, a Type II driveway, and five ADA ramps with truncated domes. Crown also built the off-site tie-in full depth, base through surface, so the transition into the right of way was not left as somebody else's problem.
